After a five-year descent into the shadows, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has returned from the void with a new offering: A Void Within Existence, streaming now ahead of its official July 18 release on Agonia Records. It follows 2019’s Walk Beyond the Dark and takes things even further into the emotional and sonic feeling of black metal.
Produced by frontman Ken Sorceron and mixed by Dave Otero (Aborted, Akhlys), A Void Within Existence is a powerful statement. It’s dense, cinematic, and raw to the core, pulling listeners into a world of grief, disconnection, and epic heaviness. The drums by Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Ghost Bath) are sharp, chaotic, and intense.
Lyrically, this is ABIGAIL WILLIAMS at their most personal and unfiltered, exploring the blurry edges of reality. Songs like “Still Nights” and “No Less Than Death” are full of shattered memories and ghostlike imagery, offering a dreamlike vibe rather than clear answers. On the other hand, “Embrace The Chasm” and “Life, Disconnected” dive into themes of cosmic fear and inner collapse.
The album artwork, created by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Bloodbath), captures that same dark and powerful feeling, with visuals that match the music’s intensity.
Now over 20 years into their journey, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has taken on a new form.
The current lineup: Ken Sorceron (ex-Aborted, ex-The Faceless, Vale Of Pnath, Nachtmystium) on vocals and guitar, Vance Valenzuela (Vale Of Pnath) on guitar, John Porada (ex-Nachtmystium, ex-Wolvhammer) on bass, and Mike Heller on drums is a sharp, focused four-piece. Together, they bring a sound that blends black metal with symphonic elements, death metal heaviness, and raw emotion.
With A Void Within Existence, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS aren’t just evolving they’re leveling up, pulling listeners into a world where melody and darkness collide in slow, beautiful collapse.
