Dutch metal stalwarts Martyr have released the video for “Legions of the Cross,” from their forthcoming album Dark Believer, set for release on August 15, 2025, via ROAR. Known for their blend of heavy riffs, melodic elements, and powerful vocals, Martyr continues to evolve their sound with this latest offering.
Dark Believer features nine tracks, including their title track, “Wrath of the Fallen,” and “Legions of the Cross.” The band describes the album as a journey into darkness, exploring themes of despair, resilience, and the human condition. “Legions of the Cross” encapsulates these themes, delivering a powerful conclusion to the album.
The band comments:
‘Legions of the Cross’ is a rallying cry for all who follow their beliefs with unwavering conviction. For MARTYR, that belief is our music our heavy metal — pure, loud, and true. This track from our new album ‘Dark Believer’ is a tribute to the faithful, the fearless, and the unbreakable legions who stand with us.”
The album will be available in CD, vinyl, and digital formats. Fans can pre-order their preferred format now at martyr.rpm.link/dbalbumPR.
Martyr’s legacy in the metal scene dates back to 1982, with their debut album For the Universe released in 1985. Over the years, they’ve shared stages with acts like Trivium, Iced Earth, and Saxon, and have toured extensively across Europe, Japan, and India. Their 2022 release, Planet Metalhead, earned “Album of the Year” from Metalfan.nl and led to a global re-release in 2023.
